I purchased a Valley Oak Log Set with Vent Free Natural Gas through ShoppersChoice.com. The set was delivered promptly, but with several ceramic logs broken. Having contacted Keegan at ShoppersChoice customer service, the issue was documented and corrected in a simple, straight-forward manner. I wanted to take a moment to share the wonderful and pleasant experience I had with the staff at BBQGuys.com. In particular, Ms. Lauren Drisdale, from the customer service and sales office.
I contacted BBQGuys.com to assist me in building an outdoor kitchen. As most Americans today, I was working within a budget; however, I have always wanted to build an outdoor kitchen to enjoy and entertain family and friends.
Upon speaking with Ms. Drisdale, I was taken aback at the incredible level of customer service I received. She was professional, articulate, knowledgeable, friendly, understanding and truly sought out to help me by answering all of my questions. In a digital era and day and age where customer service often appears to be unimportant, I found my experience with BBQGuys refreshing and enjoyable.
I was never rushed or hurried, and Ms. Drisdale actually researched several questions that I had. The conversation lasted over one hour, and in sales, that is often viewed as too long.
Aside from being a model representative for BBQGuys, Ms. Drisdale offered personal service and followed up immediately with an email. We discussed each item and accessory and she even provided honest insight into the selection of a grill, burner, griddle, doors, drawers and other items. The issue of safe construction was at the forefront and I never once felt pressured. Ms. Drisdale was the consummate professional.
Obviously, there are three guiding principles that will serve as the cornerstones to my project, and I feel BBQGuys has delivered on all of them.
First, I want high quality products at an affordable price-BBQGuys selection is second to none and Ms. Drisdale was able to focus the project and selection of products on premium brands. Next, I have to stay within my budget. BBQGuys prices are competitive and their willingness to match and beat competitors prices speaks to the level of service offered. Ms Drisdale remained confident that I would find the best prices and selection at BBQGuys. She visited competitors' websites and took the time to locate the best options for me. Lastly, and equally important is customer service. I cannot say enough about how critical this often forgotten, yet all important issue is. Ms. Drisdale did an exceptional job of representing her company in the highest manner and making the potential customer into a satisfied customer.
In closing, I wanted to extend my appreciation to BBQGuys and especially Ms. Drisdale. My outdoor kitchen dream project is nearing a reality and I am looking forward to the process that for so long, never thought would be possible.

The handle does reach the outside of the grill. The problem was on the motor side where the spit
rod reached past the entire motor. I think the problem is entirely with the motor. The 120V motor
may be mounted differently to accommodate the length. Let's wait and see after the replacement
arrives. I REALLY appreciate your time and effort in resolving the issue. It's so nice to communicate
with a friendly and understanding person rather than a computer. it's a rare pleasure.

Oh yes,the Platinum Bright Embers arrived today and even though we are in the middle of July with temperatures in the high 90's my wife and I lit
the Peterson Real Fyre gas logs and they looked beautiful! We had gas logs in our previous house (which we purchased new) and they were wimpy
compared with the ones we purchased through ShoppersChoice/Gaslogguys. The Real Fyre logs and Platinum Brights look so great we drew back the
chainmail curtains to show off the logs and plan to have the fireplace lit for dinner parties we have planned for July and August! One more thing.
As I said earlier, who ever packed our order did a GREAT job, probably not quite enough to get araise in salary but certainly enough to have a customer
tell you it was a great job of packing and they deserve a pat on the back. Our thanks to everyone who assisted with this purchase and fulfillment.

In this day and age, the consumer does not always get the service that they expect from a product or a
company. And when we don't, we will find the time to complain. But letters or calls or e-mails about
exceptional service always gets put the bottom of our to-do list, until enough time passes that we forget
about it. I am NOT that consumer. Prior to retiring about 2 years ago, I had a 42 year career in Retail
Management, 27 years as a Store Manager for Sears, Roebuck and Co. and 16 years as a Field Manager for
PETSMART. During all those years, I would always look for associates who would treat our customers with
care, consideration and honesty. You have that associate in William.
Last fall, William contacted me concerning an open order. I had purchased an outdoor heater in November so that we could extend the seasonal
use of our deck. William asked if I was ready to place the order, but I explained that I wanted to try the
heater out before making the additional purchase. He understood, and contacted me again in the spring to see
if I was pleased with the one heater, and ready to buy then two additional units. It was several weeks before
I realized that the heater was not satisfactory. It just didn't live up to the description that it would heat
a 5 x 5 foot area. So I asked William if I could return it for credit. That is where his REAL customer service
skills came to the test!
We had e-mails going back and forth for several weeks, trying to locate an order by order
number, date of purchase, address, zip code, model number and serial number. I was sure that I had purchased it
from you. After all, William and I had talked about the additional heater order. He was so helpful and understanding,
even to the point of contacting the manufacturer to find out who I purchased it from, based on the serial number.
He never, ever said that he was stumped, and that I must have bought it elsewhere. I know that he thought it,
but he never even suggested that he couldn't or wouldn't help me. If you have any kind of associate recognition
program, William should get the year's award.
He reminds me of the story that I always told about Joe Gerard,
who was the number one cars salesman in the world. He would say, "I want to sell you a lemon. Because that is
when I can really show you what I can do for you." Joe Gerard was the king of customer service. He would contact
his customers months after they drove out of the showroom, to make sure that they were happy with their car. He
would send birthday cards and Christmas cards. His customers knew that he was there for them. And he was rewarded
with their business, time and time again, and the business of their friends.
Marc, congratulations on having William on your team. He is an asset to the company.
He is a direct reflection on you. Great job! You have my business.

I am sending this review to acknowledge all of the wonderful assistance
that I have received ,over the last week. I had ordered an outdoor table
and chairs, and unfortunately when they were delivered, the four chairs
did not match the table. I immediately called the customer service
number, that I was given, at the time I placed my order. The rep that I
spoke with informed me that someone would be getting back to me shortly,
with detailed info regarding a return/pick-up and re-ordering of chairs.
To my complete surprise, a customer rep, whose name is Elizabeth, called
me within a very brief window of time. I explained to her the complete
mix up when ordering the chairs, as I was unaware of a "drop down" for
chair selection, reason being that I was ordering a 5 piece set, not 5
individual pieces. I expressed my concerns over the dilemma and
Elizabeth reassured me that she would handle everything. This would
include a set up for return shipping and a reorder of the 4 chairs that
I wanted. Elizabeth has gone completely out of her way to assist me
during this time. Her level of energy and her tireless efforts, in
resolving this issue, has been nothing short of spectacular!!! Each time
I spoke with her, she was calling to update me on the resolution
process. Every customer service rep that I have interacted with at
Shoppers Choice has been extremely kind and helpful. Customer Service is
an area of business that most of us, as customers, do not want to deal
with. Having said that, the team at Shoppers Choice is truly

I would like to take a moment to recognize your company and specifically one of your employees.
I placed an order thru Amazon for 6 ea outdoor bar stools (approx. 9:30am 16 Feb, 2012) only to later that day (2:30 pm) find that they offered a table my wife and I were also looking for. I attempted to adjust the original order in which their system told me was too late to modify, so I placed a second order for the table. The first order had no shipping fees but the second one did. I assumed it was because of the price difference. I sent a email to the seller (ShoppersChoice.com) thru Amazon to see if the orders could be combined and questioned the shipping fee difference. When I arrived home that evening (approx. 6 pm. there was a voicemail on my answering machine from a Mr. William of ShoppersChoice.com requesting a return call (in which I promptly responded).
Mr. William was calling to address the concerns in my e-mail. He combined the orders, eliminated all shipping charges, went on to verify item availability, looked into reduction of the original prices and adjust the order accordingly. The result of his persistence to customer satisfaction not only saved me approx. $600.00 but has gained the respect and future business of my wife and I.
The most remarkable aspect I noticed with Mr. William was his warm and understanding attitude to a new customer (that I must admit is not a very savvy online shopper, to say the least). He walked me thru everything I had to do and was very understanding when my Debit card was denied. I called my bank this morning 17 Feb, 2012 and had them increase the daily limit to cover this purchase (in which Mr. William had pointed out yesterday was the most probable cause for the declination) I promptly called Mr. William to have him run the debit thru once more.
Now, I'm pretty sure that this customer assistance process took much longer than the average purchase assistance should have, given all that had transpired (no fault on your end) however, thru true diligence Mr. William was not only able to secure this purchase for your company but teach an old dog (me) a new game (online shopping 101 if you will).
One last point I would like to make about Mr. William. While we were speaking on the phone, he was straightening out the mess I had created, the time (waiting for the computer to respond) gave us an opportunity to converse. Mr. William was walking me thru your Shopperschoice.com site along the way pointing out not only the many product lines your company offers but the commitment of your company to stand by those product warranties and secure shipments.
Even though I have yet to receive the products ordered from your company I have a heartfelt confidence that everything will be just fine (thanks to the customer commitment and warranty explanation explained by Mr. William). It was very apparent that he thoroughly understands online shopping, your company policies and products but more importantly how to close the deal by making the customer feel at ease with the process (no matter how unfamiliar they are with it).
It was a true pleasure to work with Mr. William on this purchase.

I recently purchased a grill from BBQGuys.com that was missing a part, a propane orifice.
I called the manufacturer, and received as bad a customer service experience as I have ever received.

Sara and Chris,
I had ordered the hat (a Christmas gift) with an embroidered decoration,
but Sarah (sp?) apparently noted the design would not work well on the
dark colored cap. For some reason I did not receive her e-mails, which I
understand included images of the cap, but she followed up with a call
(and voicemail) to my house. I wasn't able to reach her when I called
back, but the gentleman I spoke with knew Sarah, understood the concern
she was raising, and helped me change the order to a better design.
It was a pleasant, personal conversation with someone who knew what he
was talking about (as Sarah obviously did) and genuinely wanted to help.
We discussed it briefly and I made a decision. It sounds simple, but a
straightforward, competent, friendly discussion with a vendor is a rare
thing in the world of centralized call-center customer service, and I
came away not just pleased, but impressed and sort of amazed.

I wanted to report to you that you have a wonderful employee in Chris. I was trying to order through the website but had some
questions so, I was lucky enough to speak to Chris when I called customer service. He was so patient and had such a great attitude.
He told me that the different things I was ordering did not match. I would have been so upset if I had sent the order and when they were delivered, realizing that they didn't match.
He also told me about needing vents. He said that if we had any questions about building the outdoor kitchen that we could contact him. When I have called other customer services,
they seem to want to get rid of you as soon as possible. He is a great ambassador for your company and I hope he will be acknowledged for being such a good man who has
really "bought into" what your company is all about.

Coming from the retail world I just wanted to let you know that I had an extremely positive experience with your company and really blown away by the level of customer service that I received. I worked with Heather & Rochelle and they were extremely prompt to attend to my requests and the follow up that they provided was world class.
We have always said in our company tongue in cheek that we wished every customer had a problem that way they would see how good we are in fixing it for them and your company is no exception.

On August 12, 2011, I ordered a Haier Washer and Dryer to be delivered to my address for one of the condominiums I manage. I placed the order with Rochelle via the telephone and shortly afterwards received an e-mail from you confirming my order and offering your assistance from delivery to receipt. You told me you were my representative from then to the time I became a Happy Customer!
Several days later, you reported via e-mail that the washer was on backorder and the dryer was in stock, ready for shipment. I called you and thanked you for the information. Many e-mails and phone calls ensued from then until yesterday, when I took receipt of the dryer. You e-mailed me with updates every Friday, in detail, about the washer, then researched and offered a replacement machine. However, I finally decided to cancel the washer order and requested a refund of the money.
You were very gracious, apologized for the delay due to the washer backorder, and told me you requested my refund, which I should receive in 5-10 days, given the mails.
Your employers are to be congratulated for employing such an outstanding Customer Service Representative. Your dedication to me as a customer is deeply appreciated and enabled me to handle my reports to my owner and tenant in a professional and detailed manner.

I wanted to send you a note about my experience dealing with one of your employees, Kristen. I am now retired but used to be a bank executive over sales at one of the largest banks managing 1800 employees. I have seen both the best and worse service. CKristen is a rare find. She amazed me with her knowledge, recommendations and willingness to provide me the best products and pricing to fit my needs. She listened to what my project entailed and then provided me several alternatives. Kristen provided suggestions and recommendations that I had not thought of before and helped me maneuver through the areas that I unaware of.
Since June I have been attempting to build a firepit and stone decking at my oceanfront house, I needed to ensure the products would be able to handle the weather and to understand what I would need to complete the job. My contractor knew how to build the deck and pit only. I had been working with a sales person at the local gas company that did not return calls, could not provide alternatives and appeared to be incompetent. The only redeeming factor was that he was in sales and not in installations.
I really appreciate Kristen being able to take the confusion out of the process and to simplify the selection verses attempting to do it online. You have a real teasure with her. Kristen exemplifies best practice and procedures. You yourself must be a good manager to have provided the proper training and knowledge. I hope Kristen recieves recognition and and that your company offers a bonus program for outstanding service.

I would like to take the time to appreciate one of your employees, Keith Smith. On more than one occasion I feel that Mr. Smith went above and beyond my expectations for outstanding customer service. Throughout the selection process Mr. Smith was helpful, informative and seemed to go out of his way to make sure my questions were answered, and to find items that were in stock for immediate shipping.
After my purchase, another contractor underbid even your low prices. Mr. Smith honestly again went above and beyond my expectations in making sure the order did not ship, researching the proposed appliances from the new contractor as well as trying his best to offer a price match on the other guy's components. He then suggested looking at BBQ guys line of islands to help find a happy medium.
He always returned my calls. He always did what he said he was going to do. Maybe I've become jaded after many years of buying off of the internet with less than stellar customer service. But Mr. Smith's positive, helpful attitude makes me wish more companies hired people like him. Mr. Smith is a great asset to your company, and this letter of appreciation was the least I could do.

I purchased a Hargrove gas fireplace system last fall from your company. The lady who helped me with the purchase was very nice and thorough. I recently had a problem with a thermocoupler and thought I would get it taken care of during the off-season. Just a quick note of compliments to ShoppersChoice.com. I purchased my DCS grill on the 4th of July. I received an email within a few minutes saying the order was received and how it was shipping. I then was able to track the shipment through the R&L Transport website. I received a phone call from R&L as to the time and day of delivery. When the unit arrived I had a question and called but your call center had closed for the day. Now here is the best part, I received a call back the next morning, less than 12 hours later, from Erica. She explained my question and alleviated ALL of my concerns! handled this all from the beginning with understanding, care and patience,

professionally and everything went just as you described it would - thank

Usually when you deal with several people on a transaction such as this
there is confusion with one not knowing what the other was doing and
frustrating the customer. Not the case with you all - everything was clear
and coordinated.

I have worked with your sales rep. (Michael) on a couple of orders. He is an honest gentleman and as courteous as I could expect when ordering merchandise.
I was a mathematics teacher for 34 years before retiring and I hired/was part of hiring hundreds of teachers. I always looked for patience and respectfulness in a potential "new teacher."

Finally getting around to emailing you. Wanted to tell you how pleased I was with your site/service. I called before
I ordered because my husband was concerned that if there was a problem with the grill it wouldn't be easy (or cheap) to
return. I spoke to a very nice man who was very helpful and I placed my order with him over the phone. He checked to
make sure it was in stock and could be shipped and informed me that it would be shipped that day (Wednesday) but it would
come by freight so probably wouldn't get here til early this week. Well, much to my joy it arrived Friday right
before 1 p.m. ( Freight company and driver were very accommodating). My plumber was here several hours later and had
it up and running so Saturday night I was able to cook a meal for the first time in 10 days (long story with a grill
bought at Sam's- what a mess). I'm thrilled with my new Weber and I have actually recommended your site to several

I would like to thank the customer rep who helped me get this sink ontime for my installer. I ordered the sink from another site and they could not
commit to a time I would get the sink. It was a Wednesday, and my granite installer was coming on Saturday. Your customer representative called your

This is not a question, it is a compliment from a very pleased customer. I recently ordered a set of (6) flame
tamer ceramic plates for my Sam's Club Gas Grill. However, one of the plates cracked in two pieces after only two uses.
Not only did SC move immediately to get a replacement to me, but SC sent me a complete box of 6 flame tamers via FedEx! That is excellent customer service!
